At a glance
- By installing or playing Lumen Loop you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Game.
- You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to play; the Game and all its content remain ours.
- Lumens and other virtual items have no real-world value, cannot be exchanged for money and are stored only on your device.
- Purchases are processed by Google Play. Refunds follow Google Play's rules and your statutory rights.
- Removing ads and the Luminary Pass are one-time purchases, not subscriptions.
- Please take breaks: the Game uses glowing and pulsing light effects (see Health and safety).
01Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and RuiCodex ("RuiCodex", "we", "us"), a company established in Belgium, governing your use of the mobile game Lumen Loop (the "Game"), its updates, virtual items and related services, and this website. By downloading, installing, accessing or playing the Game, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Game.
The terms of the store from which you obtained the Game (such as the Google Play Terms of Service) also apply. If those terms conflict with these Terms in respect of the store's services (for example payment and refunds), the store's terms prevail for those matters.
02Eligibility and minors
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Game. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf. Parents and guardians are responsible for the use of the Game by minors, including all purchases made on devices or accounts under their control. We recommend using the purchase-authentication and parental-control features offered by Google Play.
03Licence
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use the Game on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment.
You must not, and must not allow anyone to: (a) copy, modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works of the Game; (b) decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction; (c) use cheats, bots, automation, modified clients or any tool that interferes with the Game or gives an unfair advantage; (d) exploit bugs or errors, or circumvent advertising, purchase, security or technical protection measures; (e) sell, rent, lend, distribute or commercially exploit the Game or any virtual item; (f) remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other notices; (g) use the Game for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.
04Ownership and intellectual property
The Game and all of its content — including code, levels, puzzle designs, the level generator, graphics, beam themes, sounds, text, names, logos and the "Lumen Loop" name — are owned by or licensed to RuiCodex and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, you grant us a free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use them without any obligation or compensation to you. You confirm that you have the right to grant this licence.
05Virtual currency and items
The Game contains a virtual currency ("lumens"), the Prism Vault, beam themes and other virtual items and rewards ("Virtual Items"). Whether earned in the Game or obtained through a purchase, Virtual Items:
- are licensed to you under these Terms and are not your property;
- have no monetary or real-world value and cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged for money or redeemed for anything outside the Game;
- may be spent within the Game only in the ways the Game offers (for example hints and beam themes);
- are stored only on your device. The Game has no account system and no cloud save. Uninstalling the Game, clearing its data, resetting or replacing your device, or using "Reset all data" permanently deletes your progress and Virtual Items, and we cannot restore them. One-time purchases (Remove Ads, Starter Pack, Luminary Pass) can be restored through Google Play; consumed lumen packs and an opened Prism Vault cannot.
We may manage, regulate, modify, re-balance or remove Virtual Items, rewards and their prices at any time, for example to maintain game balance or fix errors. Virtual Items credited by mistake or through an error, exploit or fraud may be corrected or removed.
06Purchases, prices and refunds
All in-app purchases are made through Google Play and are subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and payment policies. Prices are shown by Google Play in your local currency and include applicable taxes where required. Payment is taken by Google, not by us.
Types of products. Lumen packs and the Prism Vault are consumable: they are delivered once and used up. Remove Ads, the Starter Pack, the Luminary Pass and the Luminary Pass Upgrade are one-time (non-consumable) purchases: they are not subscriptions, are not renewed or charged again, and remain associated with your Google account. The first real-money purchase on a device grants a one-time bonus of lumens. The contents of each product are described in the in-game store at the time of purchase.
"Lifetime" benefits. Benefits of one-time purchases are available for as long as we operate and support the Game on your platform; they are not guaranteed indefinitely if the Game is discontinued.
Delivery. Items are delivered as soon as Google Play confirms payment. Some payment methods are processed with a delay ("pending"); the item is delivered once the payment is confirmed. If a purchase does not arrive, use Restore purchases in the Store or Profile, or contact info@ruicodex.com with the Google Play order number.
Right of withdrawal. Virtual Items are digital content supplied immediately on a non-tangible medium. If you are a consumer in the European Union or another country with a similar rule, you expressly request immediate delivery when you complete a purchase and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once delivery has begun (Article VI.53, 13° of the Belgian Code of Economic Law; Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the corresponding rules of your country of residence), to the extent permitted by law. The store sends you a confirmation of your purchase on a durable medium.
Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Google Play under its refund policy (Google Play refunds). Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or other right you have under mandatory consumer-protection law. If a purchase is refunded, reversed or charged back, we may remove the corresponding Virtual Items or benefits.
07Advertising and rewards
The Game is free and shows advertising provided by third parties (Google AdMob). Watching a reward video is always optional. A reward is granted only if the video is completed and the ad network confirms it; videos may not always be available, and daily limits apply. Advertisers are solely responsible for the content of their ads and for any products or services they offer; an ad is not an endorsement by us.
Free rewards — daily rewards, missions, the weekly challenge, world chests, achievements, the Prism Vault's growth and similar features — are provided at our discretion and may be changed or discontinued. The mystery chest in the daily-reward calendar is a free random bonus; the Game does not sell random rewards ("loot boxes").
08Ratings and reviews
You are free to rate and review the Game, or not. We never offer rewards for ratings or reviews and never ask for a specific rating. The Game may occasionally show the store's own review dialog; the store decides whether it appears.
09Changes to the Game and availability
We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the Game or any part of it (including levels, difficulty, rewards, prices and features) for valid reasons — for example game balance, security, legal or regulatory requirements, technical developments or the introduction of new content. If you are a consumer in the EU, changes to digital content you have paid for are made in accordance with Article 19 of Directive (EU) 2019/770 (in Belgium, Article 1701/12 of the Civil Code): they come at no extra cost, are clearly communicated, and if a change negatively affects your access to or use of a paid feature more than in a minor way, you may terminate and receive a proportionate refund.
We keep the Game in conformity for as long as required by law, including by providing necessary security updates. We are otherwise not obliged to provide particular content. Some features require an internet connection and may be unavailable in some regions or on some devices.
10Termination
These Terms apply for as long as you use the Game. You may stop at any time by uninstalling it. Your licence ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, virtual items, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) survive.
11Health and safety
The Game uses bright, glowing, colourful and pulsing light effects and moving particles. A small percentage of people may experience seizures or blackouts when exposed to certain light patterns, even without a history of epilepsy. If you or anyone in your family has an epileptic condition, consult a doctor before playing. Stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitching, loss of awareness, disorientation or involuntary movements. Play in a well-lit room, keep a reasonable distance from the screen and take regular breaks. Do not play while driving or in situations requiring your attention.
12Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every device, or preservation of data. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you. See also the Disclaimer.
13Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RuiCodex shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, progress, Virtual Items, profits, revenue, goodwill or device functionality, arising out of or in connection with the Game or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Game shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for in-app purchases in the Game during the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, for fraud, for death or personal injury, for the non-performance of an essential obligation of the contract, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including Article VI.83 of the Belgian Code of Economic Law and the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence). Your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content, are not affected.
14Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless RuiCodex from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Game. This does not apply to consumers where such an obligation is not permitted by mandatory law.
15Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Belgian law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The competent courts of Belgium have jurisdiction.
Consumers. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you have your habitual residence (Article 6 of the Rome I Regulation). If you live in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and we may only sue you there (Articles 17–19 of the Brussels Ia Regulation).
Out-of-court resolution. Consumers in Belgium can submit a complaint free of charge to the Consumer Mediation Service (Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur / Consumentenombudsdienst, mediationconsommateur.be / consumentenombudsdienst.be). Consumers in other EU countries, Iceland and Norway can get free help with cross-border disputes from the European Consumer Centres Network (eccnet.eu). Consumers elsewhere may use the remedies available under their local law.
Before starting any proceedings, please contact us at info@ruicodex.com; most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally.
16General provisions
Changes to these Terms. We may amend these Terms. The current version is always published on this page. Material changes will be announced in the Game or on this page before they take effect; by continuing to use the Game after that, you accept the amended Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Game.
Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor. Force majeure. We are not responsible for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Game. Language. These Terms are available in several languages; the English version prevails unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
